Who Are We?
Holman Church is a predominantly African-American congregation in Los Angeles dedicated to ministering to the needs of the community in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord of All.
GOALS
-
We will reach a greater number of unchurched people while enlarging our ministries to all family units with the power of the gospel of Christ.
-
We will appropriate the wisdom, traditions and energy within our church to partner with others in our community to promote social service delivery, healing, justice, and economic development.
-
We will increase opportunities for spiritual growth and development within our church and community.
-
We will grow and expand our financial resources and human resources to sustain and expand our growing ministries.
-
We will enhance our ability to be a "teaching" congregation.
VISION
Where there is no vision the people perish
– Proverbs 29:18
We have a vision of Holman United Methodist Church as a place where bells are rung to gather people for dynamic worship, anoint them for joyful service, teach them powerful Christian spiritual principles, and engage them through expanding ministries, causing them to grow exponentially as they embrace the mandate of Christ in Matthew 28:18-20.
MISSION
To make disciples for Jesus Christ by bringing to the people of Los Angeles, and particularly the historic West Adams community, hope-filled, Christ inspired responses to urban needs.
