City-Wide Prayer Vigil to be held Tonight. Thursday. June 18. 8 p.m. at First AME Church. 2270 S. Harvard Blvd .• Los Angeles
REGARDING THE JUNE 17, 2015 INCIDENT IN CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Announcement from FAME

Prayers of comfort, condolences and compassion. Given the images on this man’s Facebook page, especially the flag from apartheid South Africa, he was acting out on the institutionalized ideology of white supremacy and the global manifestation of systemic violence perpetrated against Black people. We not only decry the gun he used, but also the glacier that moved his destructive action. Though we find ourselves in the midst of the pain and paralysis of such ongoing terror and tyranny, we draw strength from the history and resiliency of Mother Emanuel AME Church. Moreover, we draw assurance from the name and meaning of “Emmanuel” – God is with us!!! No act of destruction or dehumanization can deprive us from divine accompaniment. No ideology or theology can separate us from divine solidarity. With troubled and tumultuous hearts, let us renew our focus & fortitude to continue to build a global movement of non-violent resistance from this intersection of mutual pain. Now more than ever, Black Lives Matter!!! Join us tonight at 8 pm at FAME Church for a Prayer Vigil. We will gather to partner in prayer and ongoing struggle against institutionalized and systemic violence! We SHALL overcome!!!
