(Purpose / Mission / Responsibilities):
The goal of our Church School is to make Disciples for Jesus Christ by providing a strong foundation in Christian Education for all ages. We continue working to grow our Church School Ministry by offering new classes/study groups, flexible scheduling and a strong curriculum to draw more children, youth and adults. Ultimately the goal is to give members a firm foundation in Biblical knowledge and principles, and practically apply the Word of God to daily life. Our goal is to enable our members to reach out to the neighboring Church community in order to spread the Word of God, allowing non-believers to find a life in Christ. Church School also provides all needed curriculum materials and tools, recruits teachers for instruction, and maintains a close working relationship with teachers and provides support when and where needed; coordinates special events during the year such as Christmas and Easter programs, Vacation Bible School, presentation of third grade and college freshman Bibles; works with other ministry leaders when needed. As Church School superintendent I attend all trainings, conferences and Church Council meetings. I am also responsible for attendance tracking and turning in Church School offering each week.
2012 Accomplishments (Activities, etc.):
- ŸThe Children and Youth Ministries have grown by 50%.
- ŸEaster Vignettes 2012, Spring Dinner Theatre
- ŸVacation Bible School 2012, Daniel in Captivity (very positive teamwork with several other church ministries)
- ŸChristmas Dinner Theatre 2012 (Good teamwork with other church ministries)
- ŸRaised $3,000.00, to assist in the purchase of new media equipment for our education building.
- ŸEnlisted a strong Donor Support group to assist the Church School
- ŸProvided and presented Bibles for our 2012 college freshmen.
- ŸStrong working partnership with Children & Youth Ministries and Music Ministries
- Maintained Bible based age appropriate curriculum programming and materials for Children & Youth, Faith Weaver by Group Publishing
2013 Goals / Plans:
- ŸTo grow our adult numbers and continue the growth of our children and youth.
- ŸTo work on the safety and improvement of our Education Building, such as the implementation of Safe Sanctuary, monitors for the building, security doors, and a new tracking system for children when in the building.
- ŸRecruitment of new teachers continues
- ŸAn Old Fashioned Church School Picnic during the summer months
- ŸVacation Bible School 2013
- ŸChristian Education Sunday
