MINISTRY NAME: ADVENT TASK FORCE
Brief Description of Ministry/Committee/Board:
The Advent Task Force collaborates with other church ministries to plan and implement activities for the Advent and Christmas season.
Major Activities / Responsibilities:
Ÿ Develop the Advent calendar of all church activities.
Ÿ Organize and publicize the Advent Potluck, held the Wednesday after Thanksgiving (this year on December 2, 2009)
Ÿ Plan the Annual Holiday Bazaar held on the first Saturday in December (December 5, 2009 this year). All proceeds are donated to the Holman Storehouse. This year a portion of the money will be used to purchase a computer for use in the storehouse.
Ÿ Coordinate the church’s Christmas decorations.
Ÿ On Gift Sunday, the entire congregation contributes wrapped gifts that are delivered to agencies that distribute them to less fortunate boys and girls.
