Hello Holman Summer Bible Camp Families,
The hot weather today reminds me that summer time is right around the corner and the Holman Summer Bible Camp is right around the second corner. The 1st payment for camp is due by April 30th. The camp registration form should accompany your 1st payment. Feel free to pay the camp fee in full by April 30th if you are so inclined.
Also, there are two upcoming New Camper Orientations for Summer Bible Camp. Below is a Q&A for the orientation.
Q&A: Summer Bible Camp New Camper Orientation
Who should attend the New Camper Orientation?
You need to attend one of the upcoming camp orientations if you are a Parent(s)/Grandparent/Guardian/Caregiver and:
- This is my child/youth’s first time attending the Holman Summer Bible Camp
- My child/youth has attended the Holman Summer Bible Camp in the past, but did not attend the 2013 camp**.
– Please note that a stand-in parent representative does not qualify.
– Parents of 2013 returning campers do not have to attend either of the New Camper Orientations.
What are my orientation date options?
- Saturday, April 26th from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel (Holman UMC – 3320 W. Adams Bl., L.A., CA 90018)
- Saturday, May 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
Why do we need to attend an orientation?
- The orientation gives parents and campers a great understanding of what to expect at camp.
- It helps families understand the expectations the deans and counselors have of the campers.
What happens if I/we miss both orientation dates above?
- We will miss you in 2014, but look forward to seeing you in 2015!

Holman Summer Bible Camp
2014 Camp Theme: “Get Jesus: Finding Your True Self in Him.”
This year’s summer camp experience will help campers of all ages get to know the real, historic, biblical Jesus – What He did – What He said – Why He lived – Why He died and rose again. We will explore through Bible stories, games, crafts, worship, discussions, small groups, meals together and many fun activities, who Jesus is and how to be His disciple in the world. Campers will learn that being a disciple of Jesus can lead to a new life and a changed world.
Camp Cedar Glen
Located approximately 60 miles northeast of San Diego; a three (3) hour bus ride from Holman. Bus transportation, t-shirt, camp store, crafts, materials, supplies and certified nurse are included in registration fee. Recreational activities include: basketball, volleyball, tetherball, ping pong, swimming, and hiking.
Family Registration: $360 for first camper and $310 for each additional child. To ensure a camp spot, the completed Camper Registration Form and a deposit of $150 for the first child and $100 for each additional child or full payment must be received by July 5th. The complete payment must be received by July 26th.
Mandatory Orientation: New families and returning campers who did not attend the 2013 camp must attend one of the mandatory orientations in order to be eligible to attend the 2014 camp.
1st payment of $150 for 1st child and $125 for each additional child due by April 30th.
2nd payment of $110 for 1st child and $100 for each additional child due by May 31st.
Final payment of $100 for 1st child and $75 for each additional child due by June 30th.
Late Registration – All initial payments received between June 1st and June 30th must be in cash or money order. No checks will be accepted. The late registration cost will be $410.00 per camper and $360.00 for each additional camper from the same immediate family not meeting the initial deposit date of April 30th.
Financial Assistance – Holman UMC has a limited number of partial financial camperships available. Mark the box on the next page to be considered for financial assistance. This form must be submitted with your 1st payment by April 30th to be considered for financial assistance.
