What is Our Mission?

The unique Mission of Homan UMC is to be an urban oasis rooted in Jeremiah 29:11, "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope".

We will bring to the people of Los Angeles and particularly the historic West Adams community hope-filled, Christ-inspired responses to urban needs. Through an expanded array of multifaceted, paradigm shifting, spirit-centered ministries, we will help build a future of hope where all God's people will experience salvation, love, acceptance and freedom.

Toward this end we will greatly enhance the number of persons involved in our ministries with the conviction of Jon Bon Jovi who reminds us that (it is) "passion, not pedigree, will win in the end." We will stir the passion of our people in ways that will help transform and revitalize our community and glorify God.
