Community / Political Action Issues Forum

Brief Description of Ministry:

The Committee brings issues and information to the congregation and the community to perpetuate intelligent discussions, decisions, and brainstorming for the betterment of the community. Through a series of open forums and classes on topical issues, the Committee enlightens the congregation on subjects related to the voting process and community issues of interest.

Major Activities / Responsibilities:

Voter Registration Drive - During the months of September and October, the Community Action Committee, sets up an information table with voter registration applications and information on the propositions on the November ballot.

Issues Forums - The Community Action Committee holds forums and informational sessions on ballot initiatives and topical issues to allow the congregation and community to make informed decisions when voting. We provide a platform for guest council members, candidates on the ballot and other community leaders to address current topics.
