The sizes and prices for the ad space are 1/8 or Business card – $25.00; 1/4 pg. – $50.00; 1/2 pg. – $75.00; Full pg. – $100.00. HEART TO HEART
Today’s passage from the gospel of Luke is a difficult one.
Jesus comes across as harsh, demanding
that those around him give up everything to follow him.
He asks them to be willing to love under the threat of death and to suffer.
They must give up their possessions.
How can any person deny his or her family to follow?
It is not an easy task or an easy life.
However, Christian people should not be afraid
of the cost and sacrifice of following Christ.
Even when we falter and fail,
Jesus the Christ walks before us and behind us
to lead us, and to pick us up along the journey!

Want to help end homelessness in Los Angeles? – If each church or religious group adopted one homeless family, every homeless child in L.A. would thrive with their family in a permanent, stable home. Imagine LA is a non-profit organization that will select a motivated family, find housing they can afford, and train a small group of volunteers from a church (or group of churches) to coach the family so they develop the skills to become self-supporting in 2 years. Come to Hollywood UMC on September 25 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm to learn about this exciting program. For planning purposes, please call the district office at 323-733-4100 if you can attend.

HOLMAN OUTREACH IN OUR COMMUNITY
As part of our efforts to work with our neighbors and extend our outreach to the community, we have partnered with three of our neighboring schools (Frederick Douglass Academy Charter School, Community Harvest Charter School and Mid City Magnet School) to provide staff parking and student bus pick-up and drop-off facilities to accommodate their needs. At all times we will continue to be cognizant of the needs of you, our Holman members, so that convenient parking is available for church activities and functions. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding in this outreach.

H.O.P.E. for AIDS
The H.O.P.E. ministry is on the patio every first Sunday with current information on HIV / AIDS to raise your awareness on issues concerning HIV / AIDS. Our community continues to be impacted in great numbers by this disease. Scripture tells us my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Stop by the H.O.P.E. table and pick up informational material for yourself or to share with someone else. Together we CAN win the fight against HIV / AIDS.
RADIO SPONSORSHIP
If you would like to sponsor the radio broadcast of our 11:00 A.M. Worship Service, please complete a request form found in the display racks, and submit to the church office; or you may contact Bettye Fontenot our church administrator, at 323 731-7285. Sponsorship of our radio broadcast ministry is an excellent way to celebrate those special events and achievements in your life and the lives of your loved ones. A radio broadcast sponsorship is also a wonderful way to honor and/or memorialize family and friends. The cost of a radio broadcast sponsorship is $690.
HOLMAN'S MEDIA DEPARTMENT
is looking for a few volunteers to become part of this ministry. The media crew is responsible for providing all of the audio/visual needs of the church particularly in the sanctuary. As our technology grows so does our need to have volunteers to help. No previous experience is required; we will do all of the training to prepare you. If you are interested, please contact the church office or David R. Sears at david@ms-tsc.com.
STOREHOUSE MINISTRY
Every 3rd Sunday is observed as Storehouse Sunday here at Holman. This Outreach Ministry is our opportunity to reach out to persons in our community who are in need of food. Your donations of canned goods, non-perishable items, and monetary contributions allowed us in August 2010 to provide food to 461 persons – that’s 175 women, 100 men, and 186 children.
A generous man will himself be blessed for he shares his food with the poor. Proverbs 22:9
THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING WITNESS!
I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine,
you did for me.
Matthew 25:40
